Salsa Chicken Recipe and Price Breakdown

We LOVE this recipe. It quickly became a huge family favorite! I originally got this in one of my coupon packets I received from Nestle Good Start when I was pregnant with my 1st a few years back. They have since taken this off of their site.

Salsa Chicken: Serves 4
  • 2 cups cooked white or brown rice (bag of white=.99/1 at Aldi) 2 cups=.35 cents ish:)
  • 1 tbsp veggie oil=.15 cents maybe?
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast halves cut into strips or cubes (3lb. bag of frozen breasts =5.99/1) 1 lb.=1.99
  • 1 medium onion chopped (I buy these in bulk bags of 6 for 1.70 at Aldi)=.30
  • 1 small red bell pepper chopped (if you wait long enough you can get these for $1 or less when they go on sale at Aldi or Hy-vee)=$1 or less
  • 1 cup bottled chunky salsa (I use Aldi off brand can of rotel)=.49/1
  • 1/2 cup shredded Mexican-blend cheese (I never pay more than 1.70 for a 2 cup bag)=.43 cents
Heat oil in large skillet over med-high heat. Add chicken, onion, and bell pepper; cook, stirring ocassionally for 10-12 min. or until chicken is no longer pink. Stir in salsa and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and sprinkle with cheese. Cover and let stand for 5 min. Serve over rice.

This whole meal costs around $4.75 to make or only $1.18 a serving!

New Coupons For Print

As always the start of every week usually brings some new coupons for print. Below are just a few of the great new coupons for print here!
Also don't forget to load your Cellfire coupons here! New ones came out last Tuesday and many of them can be combined with a paper MF coupon for some great deals!

FREE $25 Target Gift Card!

**UPDATED** This deal may not be as good as it once was:( Below is a comment from a reader- thanks to her for the update on this and I apologize that I didn't read the terms closer to find this info out for you all!

"Thought I'd mention to those that see this post that the terms have changed. It is now a free 7-day trial, and then $14.95 per month thereafter. You will not receive any gift cards until after you have been a member for at least one month. Granted, you would receive 2 GC ($50) for the $14.95 fee, but there have been enough people scammed by them with their billing and trying to cancel that it might not be worth it. Just my two cents. I signed up and sent away for my GC this summer and when I called to check on them, the company had no record of me even signing up because for some reason they never charged my card. Oh well! "

I did this deal about 5 months ago and worked out great for me so I thought I would share it with you all!

Nicole Savings Advantage offers a FREE $25 Target gift card when you sign up for the FREE trial! This deal is actually better than the one I did because now when you sign up you get a BONUS FREE $25 Starbucks gift card too!

If you like the money saving service this program provides then you can keep your membership, and if you don't then just cancel before your free trial is up and you will still get your gift cards!

To sign upClick Here or click on the image above.

Get your Paper today!

If you don't have the paper delivered make sure you pick up a K.C. Star today! I just read here that there are supposed to be 5 inserts in the paper!

If you are new to this blog you may wonder why I advocated the K.C. Star and not the Topeka Capital Journal. For some reason the K.C. Star coupon inserts are always full of more coupons and higher quality ones as well!

Have a great Sunday!
