FREE Pizza Rolls at Dillons!

Time does not allow me to post all the deals just yet, but the one I am most excited about is that pizza rolls are on sale 10/10 this week at Dillons. It gets better... if you actually buy 10 boxes of pizza rolls (15 count) you get and immediate $3 off your total price! If you regularly use my coupon widgets you have probably noticed that there has been a .55/1 coupon to be printed. It may not be there still, but if you have these coupons, or even the .40/1 coupons that come out in the weekly inserts you are in for some free pizza rolls!

So you could just buy 1 box of pizza rolls and use a .55/1 coupon doubled to 1/1 to get a box free (or as many boxes as coupons you have). Use a .40/1 coupon doubled to .80/1 to get a box for .20! Or use 10 .55/1 coupons doubled to 1/1 making all 10 boxes FREE, but don't forget you still get $3 off so you actually make $3! If you have 10 .40/1 coupons doubled to .80/1 it would cost $2 for all 10 boxes, but with the instant $3 off you will actually still make $1! Hope all this makes sense and you all get to enjoy some free pizza rolls this week!

I will have other weekly deals posted for both Dillons and Hy-Vee this afternoon!

Hamburger Potato Casserole

That is what I call this great "cheap" meal that quickly became a family favorite after a good friend made it for dinner one night. There is no set recipe and I literally watched her make it and then just have stored the recipe in my head:) To the side I have put the usual price I pay for the ingrediates. At the end of the post you can see a price breakdown.

Hamburger Potato Casserole: Easily feeds 6 more
  • 1/2- 1 lb. ground beef (I think she used 3/4 because that is what she had) (I use 1 lb.=1.99)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (.45/can at Aldi)
  • about 8 0z of sour cream... give or take (16 oz tub is .99 at Aldi so half would=.45/8 oz.)
  • about 2 lbs. of potatoes (at least 3-5 good sized ones) cut however you want really (I prefer to slice them in full circles) (10 bag is around 3.50 currently so 2 lbs.=.70)
  • Shredded cheese (maybe 1-2 cups) (I always buy cheese for .88 or less per cup. I only use 1 cup in this recipe=.88)
Brown the ground beef and season as you wish. While beef is cooking, bring the potatoes to a boil in a separate pot. The goal here is to cook them until fork tender, but not completely done. Drain both potatoes and ground beef. Combine them with cream of mush soup and sour cream in a 9X13 baking dish. Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 30 minutes, or until potatoes are done. Uncover and sprinkle with cheese and continue baking until cheese is melted.

I usually serve this with a veggie and some bread. If you want you can always mix in your veggie (green beans are the best option- canned) with the other ingredients and bake them in the casserole. This works well for picky eaters because you don't really taste the vegetable.

The total price to make this meal=4.47 or .75/serving!

Enjoy!

Target Deal

A good friend alerted me to a sale Target is having this week.  If you buy 5 boxes of Kellogg's cereal you receive a $5 Target gift card.  The price before gift card is 5 boxes for $11, after gift card it would be 5/$6... 1.20/box!  Pretty good price if you are in need of cereal!

Menu Plan Monday- 6/23

I have learned that I need to add in a "left overs" night. Even though my husband takes left overs to work, there still seems to be enough left at the end of the week to make up a pretty good dinner! So this week is full of past menus that I haven't yet gotten to make! Remember that my breakfast and lunch plans don't change much. I will tell you that mac and cheese may become a lunch favorite after I scored 12 boxes of this stuff for free at Walgreens this past week! Be sure to check out other menu plans here!

Breakfast: Unfortunately in this house there are not many options.
Frozen pancakes (made from scratch and then frozen) and fruit (whatever I bought for the
week)
Oatmeal with fruit
Cold cereal (if you coupon long enough you will never run out of cereal!)
Yogurt with fruit
Eggs and toast

Lunch:
Leftovers
Meat and cheese sandwhich
Grilled cheese sandwich
PB & J sandwhich
All lunches are usually served with raw veggies (whatever was on sale for the week),
fruit, and crackers/chips (again whatever is on sale/in the house). Depending on the
week we might have yogurt too.

Dinner:
Sunday:
TBC all church baptism! It was a great time and good food!
Monday:
Salsa Chicken/corn/bread/orange slices
Tuesday: Cheeseburger Rolls/broccoli/apple slices/
Wednesday: Breakfast- egg and sausage scramble over potatoes/grapes/and
cinnamon rolls (pillsbury)
Thursday: Mexican Casserole/corn bread/apple slices
Friday: We will be out of town
Saturday: Pizza and raw veggies

Last week we also had BBQ chicken sandwhiches in place of one of these
other meals. Please see other menu plans here and here for the recipes
for the menu this week. Hope you have a great week!
