Lowes: Sale!

A reader wrote in to say she was in our Topeka Lowe's and they had a bunch of boarder and wall paper marked down to $3-$5! She said they could be found in carts. Might be worth checking out if you are need!

Coupon Update:

See all other Dillons deals here. Below is an update to a few deals:

Kraft Philadelphia cream cheese sale: When you buy 5 bars at 1.25/1 you get back a $2 off your next order catalina. This makes it 5 bars for 4.25 or .85/1. If you have any of the .50/2 coupons this will make the deal even better! Use 2 along with this deal to get all 5 bars for only 2.25 (after coupons double). That is .45/bar!!!!

Betty Crocker pouch potatoes: These are 10/10 this week. Use a .35/1 coupon doubled along with the .30/1 shortcuts.com coupon to get these FREE!

See other Hy-Vee deals here:

Hy-Vee condensed soups: These are on an end cap and are marked at 3/$1! Pretty good deal! Thanks for the heads up Cheri!

Evenflo coupon!

If you are planning to be buying any Evenflo products in the near future this coming Saturday (the 22nd) just might be the day to do it. Babies R Us is having a one day sale. This flier here contains a coupon for a FREE $25 gas gift card when you purchase $99 or more of Evenflo products! Considering this about what a car seat costs that shouldn't be hard.

The average price around Topeka lately for a tank of gas is $1.69/gallon so $25 just might fill up your tank!

Topeka Coupons!

I was just recently introduced to Capital City Coupons. This site contains Topeka specific coupons for all kinds of places. There are food discounts, oil changes and even some coupons for hair cuts! Be sure to check the site out here!

Another FREE Gift Card!

About 6 weeks ago I posted about how I earned a FREE $25 gift card to Applebees. I am excited to say that I have enough points to choose another $25 gift card to a merchant of my choice. How do I do this? I use a program called MyPoints.

Since we live on such a tight budget this is often how we are able to enjoy a dinner out or new clothing. MyPoints has many merchants you can redeem your points with including restaurants and retail.

So far we have gotten: $25 Barnes and Noble card, $25 Panera Card, $50 towards Chilis (we loves this place!) and a $25 Applebee's gift card. I signed my email up about a year and half ago. Once I saw how easy it was I even signed up my husband's email! We average 1 gift card about every 4-5 months.

How MyPoints works:
Once you sign up you will be sent a series of emails everyday (about 5). Note: these emails in and of themselves will not generate spam mail! You earn points for simply clicking through the email and if it is an offer you want to sign up for you earn extra points upon sign up. Regardless, you get at least 5 points for just reading the email! You can also earn points by completing the surveys they send. Another great point earning opportunity is to shop through MyPoints. If you are going to be purchasing something online be sure to see if MyPoints is an affiliate with the store you are shopping at. If they are you can earn points per dollar spent. Some stores offer 10 points per dollar!

So where am I getting my card this time? Well since we just heard the wonderful heartbeat of baby #2 at my 10 week appointment yesterday I guess it is safe to say I will be redeeming my points for a gift card to Motherhood Maternity!

If you are interested in this program be sure to explore the link below!

Cheeseburger Rolls: price break down

The recipe for this can be found here. Below is a price break down of the ingredients:

Cheeseburger Rolls: Makes 6
  • 1 Batch of Ninety Minute dough= $1 (based on the ingredients this is my guesstimate)
  • 1/4 lb. hamburger (I use 1/2 pound) I never pay more than 1.99/lb. for ground beef=$1 for 1/2 pound
  • 1/2 tsp onion sald=pennies
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt=pennies
  • salt and pepper to taste=pennies
  • 1 c. shredded cheese (your choice) I never pay more than 1.78 for a 2 cup bag=.89
Total for this meal=2.89 or .48/roll. I always double this recipe and freeze what we don't eat. It makes for a great quick meal later on!

E-mail Me Button

I wanted to update you to a new feature on this site: the E-Mail Me button. This is located at the top right hand corner of this blog. I would like you to use this feature in order to ask me questions or alert me to a deal you know about. I am looking to add more posts that are specific to our regional area. This includes Lawrence, K.C., and Manhattan since I am aware of many readers living in these areas. If you know of a great sale, a free event, or awesome coupons please email me and I will be sure to post your ideas and give you the credit.

When you click on the e-mail me button it will automatically open up whatever email program your computer uses. If you use a hotmail or gmail account just right click the button and choose "copy email address." You then can paste the email address into which ever online email program you use.

I hope that sounds easy enough and you find this tool helpful!

CVS:Free batteries

Most of you may know about the Duracell battery deal going on at CVS:

Get $15 in EB wyb (when you buy) $20 worth of Duracell, limit 3
Duracell - AA, AAA 8 pk, C, D 4 pk, 9V 2 pk =5.99
Duracell- AA, AAA 16 pk, C, D 6 pk, 9 V 4 pk=9.99

There are a few clarifying items I would like to share about our Topeka store.

Our store does have the $5/2 CVS coupon that you may have read about on other blogs. It was not put out until yesterday morning and they are hanging above the batteries. The batteries can be found on an end cap at the front of the store across from the photo counter. Take note that some batteries are marked "digital" and I am not sure they are apart of the deal.

Another thing you need to know is that there has been some difficulty in using ECB's to pay for these. If you plan to use ECBs that are greater than a $5 amount I suggest you pay in ECBs first and then use your $5/2 CVS coupon. I don't know why but after your $5/2 coupon is scanned the computer is having a hard time taking any ECB's that are over $5. Here is what your deal could possibly look like:
  • Buy 1 large Duracell Battery pack at 9.99
  • Buy 2 small packs at 5.99=11.98
  • Total=21.97
  • Use $5/2 CVS coupon (you may only use 1 in 1 transaction!)
  • Use 3 .75/1 MF coupons=-2.25
  • Total=14.72
  • Pay in EB, and get back $15 in EB!= FREE BATTERIES!
Note: If you have EB's that are $5 or greater pay with your $14.72 in EB's first! Then use your MF coupons and finally the CVS $5/2.

If you are a new reader an this makes no sense I totally apologize! For those of you seasoned CVSers I hope this helps!
