Dillon's deals

When I went to Dillons yesterday I realized there is much more to the $3 deal than was advertised! So I just pulled coupons as I saw stuff I needed. I did 2 deals and his is how my Dillon's deals ended up working out:
#1
  • 2 Pillsbury crescent Rolls=3.58
  • 1 Pillsbury sweet Rolls=1.79
  • 2 cans of Old El Paso enchilada sauce=2.98
  • 1 Dora yogurt=2.50
  • 1 Trix yogurt=2.50
  • 1 yoplait plus yogurt=2.69
  • 4 cans of Cambell's soup=2.40
  • 3 boxes of Fiber one bars=6.57
Total= 25.01
- $3 off
- 2 .50/1 yopliat coupons doubled =-2.00
-1 1/1 yoplait coupon
-1 1/1 shortcuts.com yoplait coupon
- 1 coupon for Free box of Fiber one bars=-2.19
-2 .50/1 fiber one coupons doubled=-2.00
- 1 .40/4 Cambells coupon=-.80
- 2 1/1 crescent roll coupons=-2.00
-1 1/1 sweet rolls coupon
= 10.02+ tax!

#2
  • 9 bags of chex mix=13.41
  • 1 box of fiber one bars=2.19
  • 2 boxes of Chex Bars=4.38
  • 3 boxes of NV bars=6.57
Total=26.55
-$3 off
- 9 .50 or .60/1 chex mix coupons doubled= - 9.00
-1 .50/1 fiber one coupon doubled=-1.00
-2 .50/1 chex bars coupons doubled=-2.00
-3 .50/1 NV coupons doubled=-3.00
=8.55 + tax!

So the total for all that was 18.57+ tax. My receipt says I saved 63%! The best part is that I got $52 credited to my .10 off a gallon gas discount and I only paid 18.57!!! Be sure to share your deals with us in the comments section!

My Walgreens Trip!

Well I will tell you that 29th and Gage is the place to go for FAR items! They are out of the Nivea but have most other items. Many of our other stores have maybe half of the FAR items stocked. Here is how my deal ended up working out:
  • 1 Lypsyl=1.99
  • 1 Loreal=16.49
  • 1 water filter=6.99
  • 1 Crest=3.79
  • 1 Revlon nail polish=4.79
  • 1 Walgreen's acid controller=7.99
  • 1 Excedrin gel caps=3.99
  • 2 scrubbing bubbles scrubber kits=7.58
  • 2 bottles of shout spray=5.98
Total=59.59
- 10/40 coupon
- 2 2.75/1 scrubbing bubbles coupons
-2 .75/1 shout coupons
-1 .75/1 crest coupon
=41.84 + tax ( actually only paid 5.46 OOP b/c I paid with $39 in RR's from previous deals this week) I also got back 5 RRs from the scrubbing bubbles deal.

With my 5 RR's I turned around and purchased the chemistry hair care shampoo=7.99
-5 rr's= 3.59 after tax.

So I technically spent around $45 (not counting using rr's in the 1st transaction) and get to turn in 54.02 worth of rebates! I would have made more overage but the pharmacy coupon for the acid controller actually does not work and I used most other mf coupons at CVS this week.

I hope your deals worked out for you!

Walgreens: $10/$40 coupon!

Starting tomorrow through Saturday you can use this $10/$40 coupon at Walgreens. This is a great way to "make money" at Walgreens. You make money just by buying the FAR items. Here is my idea:

  • Crest Pro-health toothpaste=3.79 (use .75/1 coupon)
  • Chemisty Hair care=7.99
  • Revlon Nail Color=4.79 (use 2/1 coupon)
  • Walgreens acid controller=7.99 (use 2/1 coupon from pharmacy booklet)
  • Total after coupons=41.28
  • -10/40
  • =31.28, and you can turn in 50.03 worth of rebates!! You just made 18.75 in overage!
This is just one way. I can't even fathom the amount of overage you can truley get! Be sure to see other deal ideas here!

Dillons: FREE Cover Girl Lipstick!

In the mark down section of Dillons at 10th and Gage there are numerous Cover Girl Lipsticks marked at .99! Some are marked 1.99 but when I asked the manager he said he would give me the .99 price. I even found the color I use! You can get this lipstick FREE by using the 1/1 any CG product coupon out of the September P&G insert!

Jimmy Johns: Italian loaves for .50!

Here is my thrifty tip for today:

A friend emailed and said she saw a sign in Jimmy John's that read "We sell yesterday's fresh baked Italian loaves for .50!" She said the loaves were about a foot long! I agree with my friend when she said this would be perfect to make into cheese or garlic bread to go with a meal. Yum!

Dillons for 9/10-9/16

Well my speculation was right, however our Dillons stores have different prices for their current promotion than others, so the Chex Mix will end up being .29/bag. I will say that I am disappointed that our Dillons is not participating as fully as this Kroger store here, but I guess we can take what we can get!

Here is the Deal: Dillons is doing a promotion where if you buy 15 of any of the following products you get 3$ off your order instantly at check out. Here are the products that are participating:
  • Cambell's chunky soup or chili=1.69
  • Prego Pasta Sauce=1.77
  • Huggies Jumbo packs=9.99
  • Toaster Strudels=2/4
  • Pizza rolls=2.99
  • Pillsbury dough or brownie mix=2/$5
  • Chex Mix=1.49
  • Cambell's select harvest mix=4/5
  • V-8 fusion=2.99

  • Hefty Trash bags or kitchen bags=5.99

  • Ziploc storage bags=2.69
The best deals here are the Nature Valley, Fiber One bars, and Chex Mix. If you have been clipping coupons, and you have been diligent to print them online you just might have enough to do this deal twice! Here is my plan:

#1
  • Buy 15 bags of Chex Mix= 22.35
  • - $3 off
  • - 15 chex mix coupons ranging from .50/1 to .60/1 all doubled to $1 for -$15
  • =4.35 or .29/bag!
  • you can find coupons on my side bar widget and here
#2

  • =14.85 or .99/box!
  • you can find coupons on my side bar widget and here
Remember you can mix and max these deals, so if you don't have 15 coupons you can insert some of the other items you might need and this could still be a good deal for you. Please share your deal ideas in the comments section!

I usually go to CVS once a week and only go a second time if it is really important. I consider 90% off of summer clearance to be VERY important! My 1st trip to CVS consisted of this week's posted deals. Here is what trip #2 consisted of:

Farmland Coupons!

A few weeks back I mentioned signing up for Farmland coupons. I was excited to see them waiting for me in my mail box today! I got 8 coupons total! They range from being .50/1 to 1/1! Many times at Dillons they will put rolls of Farmland sausage on sale 10/10 or hot dogs! After you use the 1/1 coupons or double the .50/1 coupons you can get these items for FREE! If you haven't signed up for these coupons yet go here to do so!

Aldi Deals

Aldi has a few deals worthy of note for the week:
  • Whole Milk=2.69/gal
  • 2% Milk=2.59/gal
  • Skim Milk=2.39/gal
  • Pineapples are 2.49/1
  • Red seedless grapes=.99/lb. (1.98 per tub)
  • 1lb. bags of garden salad=.99//1 (usual price, but a good one!)
  • 3 lb. bags of Gala apples=1.99 (a GREAT deal!)
They also have their cheese advertised this week, but take note of the price increase and test it against other weekly circulars. I can often find cheese for less if I stock up during a a great sale at another store.

Walgreens: FREE Oust!

Oust surface and air sprays are on sale 2/$6 at Walgreens this week. You can buy 2 and get both free and here is how:
  • Buy 2 Oust=$6
  • - 1 MF BIGI coupon (-$3)
  • - 1/1 MF coupon
  • - 1/1 ES coupon (this will be taken off twice for a total of -$2)
  • Total= FREE! (you will likely pay a few pennies for tax)

I Love Rainchecks!

Way back in March when the CVS monthly booklet was full of awesome FREE deals it was hard to find any of the items and I ended up with many rainchecks.  I was able to get most items with in the month once CVS stocked their shelves, but to no avail the Lypsyl never got re-stocked.  I check every week for 3 months and then just kind of gave up, but I kept my raincheck just in case...

To my surprise yesterday as I was rounding the corner to head down the deodorant isle for this week's deal I saw some Lypsyl hanging off to the side.  I was so excited, especially since my raincheck was for 5 of them!

The moral of the story?  Always get a raincheck and don't ever throw it away no matter how long you have been waiting for the product to get re-stocked!

3 ct. Packets of Yeast for .49!

My apologies for not posting this past week's shopping trip.  I did, however, find a great deal!

In the clearance section of Dillons at 21st and Belle they have 3 ct. packs of Kroger yeast on clearance for .49!  The best part is that the expiration date isn't until 2010!  They must be getting new packaging so take advantage of this great deal and stock up!
