CVS Plan for the week of June 8

CVS deals for the week are pretty slim, but I managed to find a few good ones that will be worth the trip.  I plan to do 2 transactions.

Note:  I went to CVS, they had what I needed and ended up only paying .9 cents out of pocket! that works for me!

Transaction 1:
2 12 packs of Coke=5.50 (buy 4 get 3 EB)
1 listerine 3.49(get 3.49 in EB wyb 1=FREE!)
1 Oral B twin pack-6.99 (get 6.99 in EB wyb 1=FREE!)
=15.98 + tax
-3/15
=12.98 and get back 10.48 in EB

Transaction 2:
2 Coke 12 packs-5.50 (get 3 EB wyb 4)
1 listerine 3.49 (get 3.49 wyb 1=FREE!)
1 Oral B twin pack 6.99(get 6.99 in EB wyb 1=FREE!)
-3/15
=15.98
-3/15
=12.98 but get back 13.48 in EB on this one (the 3EB for the coke will print out)

All together I only lose 2EB! Not bad for what I am getting! Also be sure to go here for other deal scenarios.

You can also sweeten the above transactions by going here to print 1/1 listerine coupons if you have not done so already.

Shannon, Since I have not started with CVS, I dont know the ropes yet, so I do have a question: could you use the EB you get back from the first transaction to pay for your second transaction?

Looks good. I'll be doing the same transactions. I love Coke.

Kahle- you sure can!

Can you use the 3/15 more than once? The coupon says one per customer.
And when you say 2 transactions, do you do them consecutively while you are there, or do you come back?

Flemishe- you can use the 3/15 more than once. You can only use 1 per transaction, but you can do more than 1 transaction. I usually do at least 2 or 3 transactions at a time with the same cashier and I have never been questioned about my use of the coupon

hi shannon,

i tried using the 3/15 coupons consecutively- 3 separate transactions and the cashier called the manager over and asked him if i was "allowed" since it said one coupon per person. i had already done two transactions and paid out of pocket a little over a dollar and i think the cashier was miffed i was doing separate transactions and getting good stuff for little money using coupons and my ECBs . the manger said absolutely not and wouldnt let her ring the third one for the third transaction and he was irritated and read me the coupon "mam, it SAYS one per person! " . so really its up to your store. now ill split them up between 3 different stores.

Ok, I'm having a "duh" moment - so you can split the 4 cokes up? I have always thought you needed to buy (for instance) the 4 cokes together.
Still learning-and I wish I could get the $3/$15 coupon to print correctly!

Sue, thank you for alerting me to your experience at your store. I have honestly never had that happen and ring out with managers a lot of the time. I think you are right, it is probably up to your store and the management staff. If you would like to know if it is truly allowed I always recommend that people call the number on the back of their card to confirm with CVS customer service the truth in the matter. You will find every now and then that some stores give out wrong information. Hope that helps and thanks again for telling me about your experience!

Beth-
For any ECB deal all you have to do is buy the specified amount of product or $ amount to get the ECB back. You can split this up in any way you would like. Their computers keep track of what you bought and how far you are from earning your ECB... usually at the bottom of your receipt it will tell you your totals for items you have bought. I hope this helps and I didn't confuse you further...thanks for your question!

Shannon,

Can you specify what store you went to that allows you to do the 3/15 without an issue?

I only shop at the store in Topeka, KS

Another question (as I am in Topeka too)--do they accept online coupons ok? I've got a ton and my very first transaction scenarios ready, and what a depressing moment if I go in all gung-ho and can't get what I am hoping.

flemishe said...

Also at the Topeka store, how often do you find they are out of what you wanted to make the deal happen?

Shannon said...

Flemishe- They do take internet coupons and I have never had a problem using them. I will tell you to beware in that our CVS store is often not well stocked... meaning do not be surprised if you get there and what you want is not there. It is frustrating I know! They are getting better, but remember you can always get a rain-check for something they are out of. This will allow you to purchase the item at a future date for what the sale is and you will still get your ECBS that you should earn also whether it is through price adjustment or they put the EB on a gift card.

My first CVS trip...

$58.89 shelf price

Paid $18.75 with $5 ECBs still left!
Incredible!
Thanks for all of your help!

Our store has good weeks and bad weeks when it comes to being stocked well with products for the week. It is kind of touch and go to be honest, so my advice is always this: Don't be surprised if they are out of what you want.

I would be ok with a rain check too, but it's probably frustrating when you are trying to do certain transactions to use your ECBs a certain way.

I think that I will have to use the rain check I have for Coke from a few weeks ago!

I have not really begun CVSing but I am reading all about it-getting ready to dive it!

Shannon, You inspired me so I decided to try CVS. I went today and they were out of everything I went for. They refused to give me rainchecks saying they don't give rainchecks on ECB items. Based on your comments, this hasn't been your experience. Do you normally get rainchecks on ECB deals? Thanks for your help.

Shannon said...

Karen- did you go in Topeka or somewhere else? I have never had that issue in Topeka... but it has been a while since I needed to ask for a rain check. I recommend you call the customer service number on the back of your card and ask what the policy is on rain-checks. I am so sorry for your experience... that must have been frustrating!
