A Little Break

Hi!

My apologies. I have been very quiet on the blog this past week. Over the course of the past few months I have noticed that my blog has started to take more of my time and attention. I have come to realize that I need to take a step back and evaluate the situation.

My laundry has piled up, I don't know the last time I mopped the kitchen floor and my children seem extra needy. All these things tell me that I have my priorities a little mixed up! As a wife and mom my home and family come first. I love my blog and I love helping people save money, however, I love my family more.

That being said, I will be taking the next few weeks to evaluate what the role of my blog will be in my life. Has it served its season and I need to surrender it? That is the question I am honestly seeking out the answer to. I will not be posting this week or next.

Thank you for being such faithful followers of this blog!

Shannon

I appreciate all the help you have been to me to navigate grocery deals. Even if all you posted was the deals for Dillon's and Hy-Vee I would be thrilled.

I also understand how consuming a blog can be and I am behind you in making your family your number 1 priority. I quit blogging for the very same reasons.

Your help is wonderful. I for one, appreciate what you do. We all have families and know that they are first on our lists. If you decide to continue blogging (which I'm secretly hoping for, even if on a much smaller scale)know that we all love your tips and great bargains.

That's why I had to give up my money-saving blog. It's just too time-consuming. I do still have a "mommy blog", but I don't feel pressured to write there every single day. I totally understand what you're going through!

I hope you are able to find some clarity in your decision soon.

I don't know much about blogging as in how much time it takes. However I support your decision! I, like Kristin, am hoping for you to continue.

Praying for you! Keep in mind that all of us understand "priorities" or we wouldn't be looking at your blog. I appreciate your help, but understand that it is time consuming, that is why we check your blog- to save us time!

IF you do continue to blog, like suzanne said if all you posted was Hyvee and Dillons that would be just fine. OR just post what you are most excited about or the best deals you are going to take advantage of. Take the work out of it and make it more of a place to share your enthusiasum!

Love your blog Shan, but I love you more, and how great of a mom, wife and friend you are to people who love and care about you. It's a hard balancing act, and it sounds like you are trying to make the wisest choices you can. We're encouraged by you. Love you! m

Shannon, I had to do this recently as well. I prayed hard about whether or not this was the way God wanted me to spend my time. I got to where I felt like I HAD to post everyday and started dreading it instead of enjoying helping people save money and make a very little extra income on the side. As soon as I let go of feeling like I had to post everyday, I felt freedom in putting my families and my needs first, and started enjoying it again, along with taking a short break. Exercise become a priority higher than my blog for my family's sake and now I am feeling much more balanced and happy, but still saving money as I continue my couponing, which can be consuming in itself! My readers totally understood after I posted how I was feeling and still read my blog, even though I post more randomly now. Just wanted to share my journey with you! I know you will make the best decision for you!
