Apple Market Deals: 8/2-8/9

Yes that is right, I am going to start posting the Apple Market Deals as well! I have had a few requests to do so in the past few weeks since these are not posted anywhere at this time to my knowledge. The ad is now accessible online here!

I admit I do not shop there often so I am not familiar with all the ins and outs of the store. One thing I do know is that they will double coupons up to .50. Meaning if you have a .25/1 coupon it will double to .50/1. I am under the impression that they accept mf coupons from the paper and online, however I do not think you can redeem FREE coupons there. If you all have other knowledge please share!:)

I plan to post the deals that I know are comparable or beat another price in one of the other ads or the Aldi price.
  • 80% lean ground beef=1.68/lb.

Italian Meatloaf

A great friend brought us this recipe a few weeks after Levi was born and we LOVED it!!! I took her recipe and changed it a little to fit my frugal lifestyle:)

Italian Meatloaf: 1 loaf, serves 4
  • 1lb. ground turkey or beef=$1.59 (Honeysuckle ground turkey has been 1.59/lb. at Dillons for a while now)
  • 1 tbsp. minced onion=pennies (Aldi price per bottle is 1.09)
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder=pennies (Aldi price per bottle is 1.09)
  • 1 tbsp. dried basil =pennies (Aldi price per bottle is 1.09)
  • 1 tbsp. dried parsley =pennies (Aldi price per bottle is 1.09)
  • 1/2 - 1 sleeve saltine crackers crushed (4 sleeve box at Aldi=.99)= .25
  • 1/2 cub spaghetti sauce (1 jar at Aldi= .99) = .15 cents maybe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients together and shape into loaf. Put this either on a baking sheet or into a loaf pan. Brush a little bit of spaghetti sauce on top. Bake 45 minutes, drain off fat and let it cool for 20 minutes before cutting.

I served this with Alfredo noodles (.25 package I picked up during a sale a while back) and salad.

Total to make this 1 loaf is only $2.00 or .50/serving!!!

Catalina Issues

Thank you to a reader who left this comment in regards to this post... I hope it helps those of you who have had troubles with catalinas...

Comment left by reader:
"The deals run through 9/6. If you did not get your catalina, contact the catalina company at 1-888-8coupon, option 3. They will ask some info from your receipt and you will get the correct catalina within a week or two. I've done it 3 times prior."

Original Post:
I have had a few emails and comments pertaining tp the Dillon's catalinas not printing for Nature Valley and Betty Crocker deals.

What I do know is that I did the Better Crocker deal yesterday and I got my catalina so up until yesterday the deal was still on... I am not sure of the date these catalinas end. If your catalina did not print it could be have been because the cashier's machine was out of paper or not working. I have had this happen to me several times. When this happens I explain to the manager what happened and they usually just give me cash for the catalina I should have gotten or they write me a rain check to get so much off my next purchase (whatever the amount of the catalina should have been.

Unfortunately some managers don't always know about the catalina deals and don't understand what you are telling them. I haven't had to deal with those managers yet so I am not sure what to tell you if you get a manager that tells you there is nothing they can do. I am really not even sure if there is a place you can call or if Dillons customer service will know what you are talking about.

Let me know you thoughts on this... have you had issues too? If you have how were they resolved?

Thanks!
